Quite recently, did I discover that I enjoy travel photography far more than shooting friends, family and mostly myself! Nothing beats travelling in itself. Seeing new places gets me inspired and seeing them again through photographs keep me motivated.

I have used digicams, SLRs and cellphones as my media. I want to gift myself a DSLR as once I have (hopefully) exhausted my amateur status. It so happens that I travel light and it has been more than one occasion when I have lost something (say..a camera!). Besides I am yet to reach a stage where I can walk around with a tripod (that passion is yet to develop). So until then a DSLR is out of my league. I do want to try a Lomography camera (most excited about the Fisheye Camera). More the experiments, better the turn out! Imagine the creativity (and fun)!

All the images are of the places I have visited and managed to do some photography. I edit them because I see them as framed photographs that add a bit of life to my house (also they are great conversation starters). The shots that I borrow are from friends who were with me at the time, to whom I give due credit! Reblogged gifs are of the places that are really close to my heart and since I can’t be there I like to see them in motion.

I like to capture iconic structures, they make for the most compelling shots. Local elements of the places bring out the purer form of beauty of course (which I am trying to incorporate more of). Besides, they’re one of the most tangible ways that one destination is distinguishable from another. Uncluttered compositions are more attractive, I find.

Anyone can be a photographer, I have learned. It’s just about experimentation. Of course, professionals have many more techniques and experience, which comes with interest along with commitment. But most of all its a lot of fun and great source for capturing memories.
